Jose Mourinho is reportedly close to signing a 25-year-old Liverpool player who has only been with the club since 2020
AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho is said to be interested in signing Liverpool full-back Kostas Tsimikas.
The Greek international has three years left on his Anfield contract, but the former Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Manchester United manager has recommended the former Olympiakos player to the Italian club's board of directors, according to Calciomercato via Football Italia
Tsimikas was reportedly close to joining Napoli before joining Liverpool in the summer of 2020 for €13 million.
For the majority of the season, the Greek Scouser has found himself behind Andy Robertson in Jurgen Klopp's starting XI However, whenever he has been called upon, he has performed admirably.
His demeanor, combined with some of his amusing social media posts, has made the 25-year-old a fan favorite at L4.
This season, he has appeared 22 times for Liverpool and has six assists across all competitions.
Both full-backs play an important role in the German's style of play and how he sets up his team – Trent Alexander-Arnold and Robertson provide the majority of our width and attacking play.
Robertson has established himself as one of the world's best left-backs, but with the number of games we've played this season, our No. 21 has seen plenty of playing time, and he can expect more of the same next season with us looking to compete on all fronts once again.
According to Calciomercato, Jose Mourinho may try to sign Kostas Tsimikas this summer as Roma looks for a quality left-back for next season. Liverpool may be willing to do a deal if the offer is good enough, as Jurgen Klopp could put the money into his team.
Liverpool may have to brace themselves for big offers from suitors after acquiring the left-back from Olympiacos for £11 million. Roma are reportedly interested in the left-back. Jose Mourinho wants reinforcements in the next transfer window to help his club compete in Italy.
There's no reason for the Greece international to want to leave the club, as he appears to be content, but if the Italian giants make a bid, it'll be interesting to see how the club responds.
We certainly don’t want to see him go anywhere, but if he’s wanting to be a regular starter, he may believe his best bet is to move elsewhere.
