Manchester United's pursuit of Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has gotten a boost when his agent announced that the highly-rated Serbian player wants to come to Old Trafford.
United have been connected with Milinkovic-Savic, who would cost roughly £59 million, as they look to replace Paul Pogba.
Under new manager Erik ten Hag, the Old Trafford club will be looking for midfielders in the summer, as Nemanja Matic has already confirmed his departure, and Pogba is anticipated to go when his contract expires at the end of the season.
United have long struggled in central midfield, with Milinkovic-Savic considered as a possible solution.
PSG has expressed interest in the 27-year-old, with whom he is in talks, but his agent Mateja Kezman told the Foot01 website that United was his first option.
'Sergej has plenty of offers for the summer transfer window,' Kezman stated of the former Chelsea failure.
'Right now, our focus is on Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.'
Sergej wants to move to Manchester, but he is focused on the remainder of the season with Lazio.'
Milinkovic-Savic appears to be on his way out of Lazio in the coming transfer window, and has been linked with a move to Juventus.
In 44 games for the Italian team this season, the Serbian international has 10 goals and 12 assists.
Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is being lined up to replace Milinkovic-Savic if he leaves the Serie 'A' club, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Maurizio Sarri, who worked with Loftus-Cheek during his lone season as Chelsea manager in 2018-19, is said to be a fan of the player.
