Chelsea's attempts to bring in defensive reinforcements this summer have apparently been boosted. Kalidou Koulibaly, a defender for Napoli, could join Chelsea this summer.

For his outstanding achievements in the Napoli defence, the 30-year-old has become one of Europe's most sought-after defenders. Since joining Naples from Belgian side Genk in 2014, Kouliably has made 314 appearances for the club.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea need defensive reinforcements with Antonio Rudiger on his way to Real Madrid. According to AS, Andreas Christensen has agreed to transfer to Barcelona from Stamford Bridge.

Both players' contracts will expire in the summer, allowing them to pursue other opportunities as free agents.

The Blues have been offered £30 million to sign Koulibaly, according to Italian outlet AreaNapoli.it (via Football London).

With Thomas Tuchel in desperate need of defensive reinforcements, the Senegalese defender might be an excellent replacement for both Rudiger and Christensen.

According to reports, Koulibaly is not seeking for a transfer but would consider it if the opportunity arose.

RB Leipzig defender Joko Gvardiol is another candidate for Tuchel. The 20-year-old has had a strong season for the Bundesliga club and can play both left and right back.

Gvardiol has 45 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring two goals and adding three assists.

According to Goal, the Croatian is Chelsea's top objective this summer as they prepare for a crucial summer of defensive departures.

Marcos Alonso is considering leaving Chelsea amid interest from Barcelona.

Left-back for Chelsea Marcos Alonso is expected to leave the club at the end of the season, according to reports. The Spanish defender wants to join Barcelona, according to trade specialist Fabrizio Romano.

Barcelona is apparently interested in the left-back, and Chelsea is willing to sell, although talks have not progressed at this time.

Alonso, on the other hand, appears to be another defensive exit from Stamford Bridge, with Tuchel needing to make a slew of defensive changes. Since November, Alonso has been filling in for the injured Ben Chillwell. He has 42 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals and assisting on five others.

Cesar Azpilicueta, the team's captain, is one defender who will continue at the club. Despite reports of interest from Barcelona, the Spaniard signed a new one-year contract extension last month.
