Tottenham put an enormous mark in Liverpool's expectations of a phenomenal fourfold by restricting Jurgen Klopp's Reds to a 1-1 draw at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday night.

The point actually sends Liverpool top of the table on objective distinction in front of Manchester City, however Pep Guardiola's side currently have a game close by and could open up an important lead on Sunday when they face Newcastle.

Child Heung-min opened the scoring from the get-go in the last part, before Luis Diaz in the long run pulled one back with a diverted exertion in the last 15 minutes.

The two groups genuinely attempted to go after the game with extreme focus directly from the initial start up. Liverpool were constant in their fierce squeezing, ruling the ball and truly making Spurs work for without question, everything.

There were no objectives in the principal half, at this point it was an engaging game and each side had chances.Jordan Henderson's beautifully planned tackle denied Harry Kane the chance to fire Spurs into the lead, while Hugo Lloris should have been sharp at the opposite finish to paw away an unpredictable header from Ryan Sessegnon before Mohamed Salah bumped it in.

Liverpool hit the woodwork as Virgil van Dijk's header cut the crossbar after he had too effortlessly sidestepped marker Emerson Royal at a corner.

In a last whirlwind of start to finish activity before the half-time whistle, Lloris parried away a wild exertion when Diaz cut in from the left. On the quick counter, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg sent a low exertion from distance onto the post and wide, with Alisson scrambling to arrive at it.

As destiny would have it, the Spurs advancement came when Liverpool's press was not exactly awesome. It came as far as possible from Lloris, whose long ball forward wasn't managed. Liverpool were out of control protectively and Kane played in Ryan Sessegnon, who squared it for a Son tap-in.

As the final part advanced, the Spurs back-line were doing all that to safeguard the lead - Cristian Romero and Ben Davies were impeding whatever came their direction. It seemed as though it would require a snapshot of virtuoso or a fortunate turn of events to get Liverpool back level and it was the last option.

Diaz cut in from the left, jinked past several safeguards to situate himself for a shot, which Rodrigo Bentancur could get a toe on, sending the ball past the wrongfooted Lloris.

Regardless of yielding the adjuster, Spurs kept on disappointing Liverpool - as the Reds endlessly pushed, there was even potential for the guests to grab a shock champ when Hojbjerg attempted to track down Kane as opposed to going for objective himself. However, 1-1 was the manner by which it wrapped up.
