Paul Pogba informs Manchester City of his transfer decision following a 'flattering proposal.'
Manchester United is predicted to lose Paul Pogba this summer, and Manchester City has appeared as a possible destination after making an offer to the Frenchman.

According to reports, Paul Pogba's representatives have informed Manchester City that despite receiving a flattering offer, he will not be joining them.

The Manchester United midfielder's contract expires in the summer and he is free to seek greener pastures after no agreement on a new contract could be reached. According to reports, City are among those considering a move for the World Cup winner.

A move across the border would have been a huge deal, and the Premier League champions made an offer, according to the Athletic. Pogba and his team were eager to consider all options, but they have informed the Etihad that they will not accept their terms.

Pep Guardiola is looking for a new midfielder with Fernandinho set to return to his homeland in the summer. The 37-year-old has spent nine seasons on the blue half of Manchester and will need to be replaced. Pogba, on the other hand, is said to prefer a package offered to him by another club and is set to leave England.

Pogba joined United from Juventus in 2016 for a club record fee of £89 million. He's only shown flashes of brilliance, but he's still a sought-after commodity, with his former club, PSG, and Real Madrid all interested in the Frenchman. Jamie Carragher warned City off the 29-year-old, citing his work rate as a major issue.

He mentioned on Sky Sports: "I wouldn't go near him. You win the league every year, I mean he doesn't work hard enough. Nobody has ever doubted his ability. But look at the creative players City had also - brilliant players who never stop running and working. That is what defines City."

Pogba's best target in Manchester didn't last long, and he crying off in the first ten minutes of United's 4-0 lost opportunity to Liverpool. He's only won two awards in almost six seasons, the most recent in 2017.

Several managers have been unable to find a regular place for Pogba in the starting XI, and his inconsistent performances have not helped his cause. The Frenchman has previously hinted at leaving United, promoting moves elsewhere in the media.

Madrid was mentioned as a possible destination, and Florentino Perez may be eager to add such a big name to his squad at the Bernabeu.
