Chelsea are set to be free to sign and sell players after the takeover of the club by Todd Boehly’s consortium - and Monaco centre back Aurelien Tchouameni is at the top of their shopping list.

Real Madrid have long been favourites to land the 22 year old, according to Sport, but now according to Marca, Chelsea are ready to make an approach. The Spanish paper though also say that Liverpool will be contenders.

Monaco are not expected to be able to resist offers for Tchouameni - but the French club are expected to want around £65 million for the centre back.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel wants at least one top class centre back to add to his squad, with both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen on their way out of the club this summer - Rudiger to real Madrid and Christensen to Barcelona.

Lukaku set for showdown talks

Romelu Lukaku is set to have talks with the Chelsea hierarchy over his future at the end of the season.

The £97 million striker had a rare start at the weekend as he scored both of Chelsea’s goal in their 2-2 draw with Wolves. But the Belgian star has spent most of the season on the bench at Stamford Bridge, and after a bright start following his move last summer from Inter Milan, has netted only seven league goals.

Italian pundit Fabrizio Romano says that Lukaku intends to speak with Tuchel at the end of the season and will tell the German he wants to be a key player next season.

“Lukaku intends to speak with Thomas Tuchel at the end of the current season to understand the club’s plans as Romelu wants to be a key player for next season,” Romano wrote on Caught Offside.

Alonso future in doubt

Chelsea fullback Marcos Alonso’s future at the club may be in doubt after the Spaniard reportedly rowed with Tuchel.

Alonso was subbed off at half time in the draw against Wolves by Tuchel, with Di Marzio reporter Nathan Gissing stating that he and the Blues boss had a “heated exchange” after the first half - although the club have denied talk of a bust up between the pair.

The Spanish international, now 31, has been linked with Barcelona even though he has another year left on his contract. Now though, matters could be accelerated according to Di Marzio writer Nathan Gissing on @DiMarzio.

The 19 year old Chelsea academy product has had a successful season on loan at Championship Huddersfield - and that has made a host of clubs sit up and take notice.

Cherries boss Scott Parker is at the head of the queue - though it is understood that Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel wants to see the defender back at the club in the summer to have a good look at him before making any decisions, according to astamfordbridgetoofar.com.
