The government is eager to protect the digital economy for future generations and to encourage additional investment in the country.

To that purpose, additional money will be invested in internet safety education campaigns with faith-based organizations in both urban and rural populations throughout all sixteen areas.

Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, made the announcement during a keynote speech after the Bono regional Girls in ICT event in Sunyani.

According to her, the topic for this year's program, Access, and Safety reflect the government's focus on digital security as the economy shifts to a digital economy.

As a result, she informed them that additional digital technology will be available for other institutions to utilize.  as well as assuring proper online safety for users.

This is to guarantee that the country continues to attract the greatest kind of investments. "In the newly developing world, digital tools have become critical, and we can't afford to leave the girls behind."

This year marks 10 years since the program began internationally, and for the first time in Ghana, we want to do it in five regions; this has never been done before.

Our goal is to provide fundamental ICT, coding, and other STEM teacher training. "Digitalisation is a game-changer, and the government is committed to growing the digital economy at all costs by making current technology available," she added.

The Minister has pledged to continue the GIICT initiative.  asked the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) to take responsibility for the initiative and keep it going so that additional girls can benefit.

She also advocated for the creation of coding clubs in all schools to inspire underprivileged students to participate in the effort and become digital geniuses.

Justina Owusu-Banahene, Bono Regional Minister, commended the minister and her team for arranging the event in the area and urged more efforts like this to boost the digital abilities of kids in the region.
