Despite transfer rumours, Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has stated that Federico Valverde is "untouchable."

Last summer, the Uruguayan signed a contract deal with Los Blancos until 2027, but Manchester United and Liverpool were said to be interested.

But the 23-year-old remained at the Santiago Bernabeu, putting an end to any talk about a summer transfer.

"Fede Valverde is UNTOUCHABLE in this team," he told Movistar.

Valverde, a product of Real Madrid's development system, made his senior debut after returning from a loan spell at Deportivo La Coruna in the 2018-19 season.

Initially relegated to a supporting position, the Uruguayan established himself in the side the following season and was instrumental in their La Liga title triumph this season.

His passion, ball-carrying abilities, defensive work, and enthusiasm are tremendous, and he has become a model of consistency for his outstanding performances week after week.

Valverde has made 144 appearances for Real Madrid, scoring 13 goals in the process.

Real Madrid is on the verge of winning both the La Liga and the Champions League.

Real Madrid is aiming to capture its record-extending 14th Champions League trophy later this month, having previously won La Liga.

Madrid has only won the league and the Champions League once in the Champions League era, and that was in the 2016/17 season, when the Whites romped to both trophies.

This season, they have a chance to replicate the extraordinary achievement.

Liverpool stands in their way, seeking vengeance after losing the 2018 final to Madrid.

In 2018, the Reds were defeated 3-1 in Cardiff after Mohamed Salah was injured by Sergio Ramos and Loris Karius made two terrible errors.

The Reds, on the other hand, have considerably improved since then, winning their sixth European title the following year to seek redemption.

But there's still a sense of unfinished business against the Spanish giants, who have become Europe's comeback kings this season after stunning comebacks against PSG, Chelsea, and Manchester City in the final stages.

On May 28, a thrilling final awaits at Saint-Denis in Paris.
