Thierry Henry was forced to make excuses after Virgil van Dijk revealed the Arsenal legend did not respond to a text message.
Van Dijk inquired about which pundits were in the CBS studio prior to conducting a post-match interview. When the Dutchman found out Henry was there with Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards, he exclaimed, "Titi? I texted him, but he did not respond. Titi is a legend."
As the camera cut back to the studio, the punditry panel could be seen laughing as host Kate Abdo questioned why the former World Cup winner didn't respond. "I actually don't have his number anymore," Henry replied.
"Send me a text... I'll ask someone else for his phone number. I changed my phone number, and when I put all of my numbers on my new phone, his was lost."
The news sparked a hilarious exchange between the pundits, with Carragher attempting to insult Henry. "To be fair, tonight there has been a bit of a lack of respect from Thierry," the former Liverpool defender interjected.
"To CBS for not requiring Virgil van Dijk to wear a tie. There's a recurring theme there. He's a great guy, he's shown you respect, and you're not replying."
After that, the Frenchman replied smugly: "He didn't text the correct phone number. I'll locate him. You're annoyed because he's texting me. Everything is fine!"
Van Dijk has been crucial to Liverpool's cause this season and will continue to play a key role in the Reds' quadruple charge. Klopp's team has qualified for their third cup final of the season, having already won the League Cup in February and set up an FA Cup final date with Chelsea on May 14.
Liverpool will now play either Manchester City or Real Madrid in the Champions League final on May 28 in Paris. Pep Guardiola's side holds a narrow lead into Wednesday night's second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu, having won a seven-goal thriller at the Etihad last week.
The Premier League remains the Reds' fourth battle. Van Dijk and corporation
are currently one point behind fellow title contenders City with four games remaining, and if they beat Tottenham at Anfield on Saturday evening, they can pile tension on City ahead of their match with Newcastle on Sunday.
