The Manchester City Release Clause of Erling Haaland Has Been Revealed

Erling Haaland's Manchester City contract includes a delivery clause, according to new reports.

The Norwegian goal machine has signed a five-year contract with the Premier League champions, who recently confirmed an agreement on a basic level with Borussia Dortmund.

Surprisingly, City has figured out how to finish the arrangement for a cost of £51 million, and with other installments factored in, the total cost could reach £85 million.

Haaland, who has 85 goals in 88 games for Dortmund, is set to earn around £375,000 per week at City, matching Kevin De Bruyne as the club's highest earner.

However, according to the German outlet BILD, Haaland could leave City in 2024 if his delivery provision is activated. That figure remains at £128 million, more than twice what City paid for the 21-year-old.

Throughout his career, Haaland's agreements have included discharge clauses. He had a £17 million delivery clause in his contract at Red Bull Salzburg, which allowed Dortmund to scoop him up for next to nothing.

The presence of such a condition in discussions appears to have put off Manchester United and Real Madrid at various stages, yet City has been willing to meet the terms.

Haaland is thought to have undergone clinical tests in Brussels, with legendary former City captain Vincent Kompany assisting the interaction to go off without a hitch.

According to Stuart Brennan of the Manchester Evening News, he chose City over other driving European clubs for "close to home and football reasons," as he could have obtained a similar compensation elsewhere.

He has a certified relationship with City because his father plays for the club, and he was a member of a Norwegian City allies Facebook group until 2019.

Haaland was expected to leave Dortmund in the late spring, with the £64 million transfer taking place near the end of the season.

The Norwegian had been strongly linked with Real Madrid, PSG, and, of course, City, and the Premier League club won the fight, not that one had really arisen.

Earlier this week, it was reported that the Bundesliga club had given their star man a break to complete the transfer, and he is said to have had his clinical on Monday.

It's widely assumed that the 21-year-old striker has agreed to a long-term contract that will see him earn a base salary of £350,000 per week, as well as significant bonuses.

The previous season, City was desperate to add a striker to their squad, in spite of the fact that Pep Guardiola had an exclusive, keen interest in eyes for Harry Kane, directly following Sergio Aguero’s takeoff.
