Cech is currently working as an advisor at his former club. After extra time, the game ended goalless, with Liverpool prevailing 11-10 on penalties. Cech commented on this:
"The League Cup final ended in a bizarre manner with us on the losing side, but we are confident that we will have better luck this time. Everyone understands we have to put on a terrific performance to beat them, and the players are prepared for it."
Chelsea and Liverpool have battled it out three times this season.
The two teams first met in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge in August 2021,it ended in a draw.In January of this year, they met for the second time in the league. However, Chelsea's Kepa Arrizabalaga missed a penalty, while Caoimhin Kelleher scored for Liverpool to win the match and the title.
