Ghanaians are fortunate to have Akufo-Addo as President, according to John Boadu.
According to John Boadu, General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ghanaians are fortunate to have Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo leading the country through this current economic challenge.
According to him, despite the global hardships caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the increase in petroleum product prices, Ghana's economy has experienced good growth rates, according to myjoyonline.com.
He stated that if the National Democratic Congress government led by former President John Dramani Mahama is in charge, Ghana will be in a worse position than it is now.
"We (NPP) are far better economic managers than they can imagine." We are fortunate. The government of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is in power during these difficult times, with the twin problems of COVID and rising fuel prices.
"They (the NDC) did not have that experience, but we saw what they were able to accomplish." "He (Mahama) would not do anything better than what has already been done," he said.
In response to Mahama's remarks at the NDC's 'Ghana at a Crossroads' event, Boadu stated that Mahama's proposal to get the country out of its current economic crisis was nothing new.
“... I expected him to say that he has a policy direction that is different from what we're doing, or that if he were there, he would have implemented and made things better. That is what I would expect from a responsible opposition. "I'm ready and waiting to take over the government," he said.
In contrast to government officials who blame him for the country's current problems, ex-President John Dramani Mahama has stated that he left a stable economy for the current administration.
Mahama stated that the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government could have at the very least built on the strong foundation that his government left behind to help improve Ghanaians' livelihoods.
"After inheriting a stable economy that was programmed and poised for rapid growth beginning in early 2017, this government has squandered its way into a ditch from which it is now impossible to emerge without imposing even greater hardships and suffering on Ghanaians," he said.
