According to Dela Coffie, a member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), new surveys show Kwabena Duffour ahead of former President John Mahama.

He wrote the following on his official Facebook page: "New surveys show Duffuor ahead of Mahama in the race to lead the NDC."

The vast majority of NDC voters and supporters of the Mills group believe that the party requires new leadership to address difficulties.

Indeed, six out of ten NDC members back Dr. Kwabena Duffuor's bid to lead the party into the 2024 general elections.  According to a survey conducted by the 'Ghana Democracy Forum' on 'Clubhouse' last night, the NDC requires a political power project directed with zeal from the top and tirelessly implemented at every level. And the majority of respondents say Dr. Kwabena Duffuor is the best candidate to lead the NDC out of its current electoral mess.

When asked if the NDC required a change of direction, 46 percent responded yes, 41 percent said no, and 13 percent said they were undecided.

When asked which leader they prefer, 66 percent of the 2,000 NDC voters polled said Dr Kwabena Duffuor's ideas and leadership are the best. While 34% say the party needs new blood in the future, they do not believe Duffuor is the right guy for the job.

According to the poll, Mahama's support among the NDC's "old guard" is dwindling, giving Dr Kwabena Duffuor a comfortable lead. It also exposes new misgivings about Mahama inside the NDC, as well as widespread opposition to his 2024 candidacy, barely two days after the party's National Executive Committee set the presidential primaries for February 2023.

This indicates that NDC voters are concerned about the potential of a Duffuor presidency, emphasizing the need for a political shift.
