Madam Pearl Ogyiri of Pearl Consult, project consultants, offered an update on 18-month execution timelines with a preliminary start date of June. She told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the June count time is due to a number of factors, including site presentation, mobilization to clear the site, and the completion of some paper work.
She stated that local content remained critical in the execution process, assuring the public of justice and assuring the team of the public's support for the project's successful completion.
She promised that the Assembly and its resources will be there to help it succeed.
Mr Samuel Asiedu, representing Northrock Limited, an Accra-based construction firm, said the project will benefit the local economy by increasing employment opportunities and improving food and logistics. He promised that the construction businesses Eye-Con and Caks Limited would deliver high-quality projects that would last generations.
According to Nene Akoto Sah VII, Chief Warlord of Agotime Traditional Area, the enclave had struck it rich with the New Patriotic Party-led government in terms of landmark infrastructure and amenities, as the area benefited from the provision of water, a market facility, and the start of a District hospital project during the presidency of John Agyekum Kuffour.
He described their decade-long lobbying for a District hospital as a "dream come true" and expressed his wish for the facility to be completed "soon." "We anticipate the construction of this district hospital to relieve and alleviate the stress and challenges that my people have as a result of having to seek medical and healthcare services mostly in Ho."
The Warlord stated that the people are eager to help with sand, stone chips, and other materials in order to complete the hospital quickly.
Before the project's site was handed over, the key stakeholders met for a kick-off meeting.
