Chelsea will play their penultimate home game of the season with a takeover offer all but confirmed and another season in the Champions League secured. They go into this encounter with nothing to play for against a Leicester City side that has the same situation.

The Blues are 2/5 favourites with Betfred ahead of their Premier League match against Leicester, with a draw being 4/1. The Foxes have not won their last away game in any of their last 13 Premier League seasons, with their most recent victory coming against Blackburn Rovers in 1997.

Chelsea may now relax knowing they have achieved the bare minimum for the Premier League season, but they will be frustrated on reflection. Thomas Tuchel's team has never finished outside of the top four all season, and they were early title candidates after staying at the top for eight weeks before losing to West Ham United in December.

Despite crucial player injuries, they finished the season in the finals of both domestic competitions, as well as the winners of the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup. The Blues may have twice been beaten by Liverpool in the Premier League, but all indicators point to a competitive season ahead, with Tuchel's team firmly in contention.

This has been a season to forget for Brendan Rodgers and his team. Despite fighting for Champions League football in successive seasons, the Foxes had a season of mid-table mediocrity, with injuries disturbing their flow. If they win at Stamford Bridge, they will finish eighth for for the second time this season.

Chelsea has scored in 17 of their last 36 Premier League games, including two in their last five, while Leicester has scored in 24 of their last 36 league games, including three in their last five. 10/11 for both teams to score.

The Blues have 19 league games with three or more total goals, including their previous two, while the Foxes have 23 league games with three or more total goals, including their past four. The odds of scoring over 2.5 goals are 8/13.

This will be the 122nd encounter between the two sides in all competitions, with Chelsea winning 59 times, drawing 34 times, and losing 28 times. This will be the 106th league encounter between the two clubs, with Chelsea winning 48 times, drawing 31 times, and losing 26 times.
