To mark the eighth anniversary of the late Paul Victor Obeng's death, his family inaugurated the "P. V. Obeng Roundabout" in Tema Community three.

The P V. Obeng Roundabout was conceived and built using an Adinkra symbol, the 'Krapa,' to represent the iconic character of the man who served the country in many roles until his death.

Before the inauguration and formal commissioning of the PV Obeng Roundabout, a memorial liturgy was performed at Good Shepherd Parish Catholic Church in Tema Community Two. Mrs. Rose Obeng, the widower, said the 'Krapa' emblem represented his late husband's values as a humble man who kept a low profile while being a public figure.

She said that his favorite Adinkra sign was Krapa in twi, which means "Good Soul," and precisely reflects late PV Obeng's ideals.

Mrs. Obeng went on to say that the family did not want a blast in his honor because of the late PV Obeng's values.

"People thought we'd have a burst of PV's face everywhere," she explained, "but knowing this man, who was a humble person, he wouldn't want his face to be shown everywhere." "After his death, the Tema Metropolitan Assembly dedicated the roundabout to his honour," Papa Obeng, son of the late P V Obeng, said, "the family then decided to put up the structure which symbolizes the values he stood for," adding that "Krapa stands for humility, generosity, and purity, which were values that our fathers lived on."

He went on to say that "despite dying at a young age, he lived a complete life."

Mr. Isaac Ashai Odamatten, Member of Parliament for Tema East, stated that all presidents in the fourth republic leaned on the late PV Obeng's God-given wisdom, and that the Tema Traditional Council and other stakeholders endorsed the roundabout's naming after the late PV Obeng.

"The people of Tema granted their consent for the location to be named after him before the late supreme chief of Tema Traditional Council, Nii Adjei Kraku II, joined his ancestors and before we thought of immortalizing PV Obeng," he said.

Tema West Municipal Chief Executive, Ms. Anna Adukwei Addo, promised to take responsibility of the area and guarantee that it was well-kept as part of the municipality's makeover.
