PAC Consider Using Courts in Developing Financial Management Intelligence
The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is expanding the scope of its purpose to enroll legal aid assistance in improving public financial management skills.
The Committee is raising concerns about many new indicators in the Attorney General, public institutions that are considered faulty during adoption leave, and other financial conflicts during its international tour to consider the Auditor-General's 2018 Report.
More than 150 institutions and individuals have been named under the 2018 report to date.
Mr. James Klutse Avedzi, Chairman of the Committee, said during a respectful address to the Volta Regional Minister before their meeting in Ho, that the revision proposals had been previously ignored and the regulations had been ignored.
He said thus the PAC saw it as an opportunity to look for legal assistance in its efforts.
“We have chosen to allow the law to follow all the way, and we are taking the case to court for choice.
We are doing this to urge public servants to make the right choice, so people who violate procurement rules will go to court, ”said the chairperson.
Mr. Rockson Dafeamekpor, a Member of Parliament for South Dayi, and a Member of the Committee told GNA while not involved in the main forum, that the foundations were constantly reviewing the content of the review, and step by step revived many violations.
He pointed out that going to the Act conveyed something tangible, and he hoped that the financial ills that immerse the public space would be remedied.
"People are taking it too seriously now when they come to the Public Accounts Committee, and it is enough to fix the property problem of public institutions," said the Member of Parliament.
The Committee initiated a meeting in Ho, which will bring together organizations in the Greater Accra, Mpumalanga, Volta, and Oti regions, on pre-tertiary foundations, some of which are directed to the AGs Office for legal promotion.
