LOVING ONE ANOTHER AND SPREADING PEACE BismilLah.
Abu Hurairah (RA) is reported to have said: The Messenger of ALLAH (peace be upon him) said, "By HIM in Whose Hand is my life! You will not enter Jannah until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another. Shall I inform you of something which, if you do, you will love one another? Promote greetings amongst yourselves." (Riyad as-Saalihin, Book 6, Hadith 4). This is one of my favourite Hadiths.
Paradise is not just by means of our deeds or actions; it is from ALLAH'S Mercy. And it is HIS Mercy that by loving one another and spreading Salaam that you can attain Jannah. Even in Jannah, when the people meet each other, there is just peace. Why are you not talking to your brother or sister, etc, to the extent of not saying Assalaamu Alaikum to them. Well, if you cannot forgive him or her, then do not expect ALLAH to forgive you, and this is serious. Send him or her Assalaamu Alaikum now.
All shall taste it!! what is it that we will all taste?
KULLU NAFSIN....?
All of us will die either sooner or later, but the serious question remains as to HOW? In the state where ALLAH is pleased with us or where HE is displeased?
ALLAH says:
“ Until, when death comes to one of them, he says: “My Lord! Send me back”. (Quran, 23:99).
Why does he want to be returned to this world? Is it to live longer? Is it to earn more money? Definitely NO.
The answer is: “ So that I may act righteously in that (world) which I have left behind…” But is it possible to be sent back after death?
“… Never! It is simply a word he utters, and behind them is a barrier till the day when they will be resurrected.” (Quran, 23:100)
Alhamdulillah! You and I are still alive, and we have the opportunity to perform good deeds and act righteously.
Let’s not delay that lest we meet the same fate stated in those verses.
One lives only once, and there is no coming back to this world again when death comes.
May Allah be pleased with us when we return to Him after death. Aameen.
