According to rumours, Sevilla are anxious to complete a deal to bring Jules Kounde to Chelsea as soon as possible during the summer transfer window. The Frenchman has long been revered by those in charge at Stamford Bridge, and was on the verge of moving to west London a year ago, but was forced to stay after the two clubs were unable to agree on a transfer fee despite months of talks.Chelsea are expected to renew their pursuit of Kounde at the earliest chance, with the likes of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen due to leave the club when their contracts expire at the conclusion of this season. According to Goal, if the Blues decide to resume talks with Sevilla over the 23-year-services, old's they may be successful at the next time of asking. The La Liga heavyweights are eager to get him off their books in time for next season.

According to the source, Sevilla would try to offload Kounde as soon as possible so that his ultimate replacement can be signed and rapidly brought up to speed.Despite the club's need to strengthen its defensive ranks ahead of the new season, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel met with probable new owner Todd Boehly last week but did not discuss potential transfers. Boehly, on the other hand, is thought to have drafted encouraging plans to usher Chelsea into a new era after two decades under Roman Abramovich's leadership, and he is likely to manage a productive summer window once the club's transfer restrictions are eased. It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will be able to complete a deal for Kounde in the near future in order to prepare for a resurgent Premier League title bid next season. Over the last several years, the defender has established himself as a regular at the back for Sevilla, appearing 43 times in all competitions for the Andalusian club this season.

When the new season begins in August, Kounde's outstanding versatility, quick turn of pace, and cultured range of passing will put him in good stead to flourish as part of Tuchel's back three. Former Liverpool winger Steve McManaman, though, has previously stated that Kounde may not be ready yet.Kounde is a young French international who will draw attention to himself "When asked about the Sevilla defender's skills last year, McManaman stated.

"The way Spanish defenders play, they usually do. Even though he is only 23, he has been around for a number of years and is well-known. Nobody has voted for him yet, and there's a reason for that.

"It's either because he's too expensive or because he's not yet at the top of his game. I still believe he needs to improve if he wants to play in the Premier League's upper levels, where the greatest teams compete.
