Real Madrid are set to make a sensational return for Cristiano Ronaldo this summer if Mbappe decides to stay at PSG
Cristiano Ronaldo could be set to leave Manchester United this summer and make a sensational return to Real Madrid according to reports.
Fours years after leaving the Spanish capital, Cristiano Ronaldo is being linked with a return to Real Madrid.
Ronaldo has been United's front man this season being the club's top scorer and being regarded as the saviour of the Red Devils.
Although Ronaldo only moved back to United last summer, his time at the Theatre of Dreams could be up very soon with the change in manager. Thus far, he has played under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Rangnick, and could very well play under ten Hag as well – all within the space of a year.
However, with the Red Devils sitting in sixth position in the Premier League table, they are in danger of missing out on qualifying for the Champions League next term. The lack of UCL football could be another reason forcing Ronaldo to seek an immediate exit.
The former Los Blancos star has remained in impressive form this season with 23 goals from 35 appearances, and it is reported that it hasn't gone unnoticed by the Santiago Bernabeu hierarchy. Ronaldo has caught the attention of club officials who are now looking to set up a LaLiga return for the Portugal international, who made the same move back in June 2009 for a then world-record fee of £80 million should Mbappe's deal break down.
Ronaldo has already been linked with a possible move away from United amidst the imminent arrival of Erik ten Hag.
United would be prepared to keep hold of Ronaldo as new manager Ten Hag is said to be keen on working with the superstar.
With Mbappe set to decide his future soon, Real Madrid are prepared to bring their legend back to the club this summer should Mbappe decide to stay at PSG.
Cristiano Ronaldo could make a sensational return to Real Madrid this summer – with the Spanish giants increasingly keen on a reunion. Influential key figures at Real Madrid want the return knowing he'll bring guaranteed goals in La Liga.
Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes is said to be keen on moving Ronaldo to a club with UEFA Champions League football this summer.
However, Senior figures in the Real Madrid squad are reportedly encouraging the club to sign Ronaldo. They believe the Portuguese’s impressive goalscoring stats can be vital in the club’s pursuit of silverware next season.
Ronaldo has been linked with the likes of Bayern Munich and Barcelona ahead of the window.
One would think this is not very likely as the club will seemingly prioritize Kylian Mbappe this summer. It seems unlikely Real Madrid would bring both to the club as well as a Ronaldo reunion this summer, but certainly stranger things have happened in football.
