According to Ingrid Mollestad, the Norwegian Ambassador to Ghana, the friendship and collaboration between her nation and Ghana extends to all levels, which is why the two countries must enhance their connection for mutual benefit.

She stated that the two nations had a tight connection at the moment, adding that she was both "glad and proud of our strong and ever-strengthening alliance" as Norway's Ambassador to Ghana.

"As members of the United Nations Security Council, we work together and see eye to eye on many issues, including maritime affairs, fisheries, energy, health, education, food security, and multilateral affairs," she added.

Constitution Day in Norway

Ms Mollestad made the remarks at a celebration of Norway's Constitution Day at her Accra apartment on Tuesday.

Every year on May 17, Norway celebrates their national day, which is also an official public holiday.

The Constitution of Eidsvoll declared Norway an independent Kingdom on May 17, 1814, in a bid to escape being transferred to Sweden following Denmark-terrible Norway's loss in the Napoleonic Wars.

The gathering on Tuesday drew participants from all walks of life, including ministers of state, members of Parliament, diplomats, celebrities, and academics, among others.

The Norwegian Ambassador said that Constitution Day meant a lot to Norwegians since their country's Constitution was still in effect, making it one of the oldest in the world.

"May 17 has also come to symbolize our independence, peace, and freedom," she added.

Ghanaians have opportunities.

Ms Mollestad mentioned the Norwegian Prime Minister's visit to Ghana in 2019 and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-visit Addo's to Norway only weeks before the COVID-19 epidemic in 2020.

"We look forward to welcoming President Akufo-Addo back to Norway shortly." As shown by the presence of the newly founded Ghana-Norway Alumni Association, Norway has welcomed numerous Ghanaians to live, work, and study over the years.
