Very Rev. Dr Peter Yaw Ofori, the General Overseer of the Calvary Victory Hour Centre International in Kumasi, has asked clerics to pray for the young, since many of them are going astray.

He stated that it was past time for the youth's minds and hearts to be oriented toward the kingdom of Jesus Christ.

"Unlike our day, when we were focused on kingdom business and matters relating God's work, today's kids are simply interested in quick money and would do anything to acquire it.

"Our parents made sure that we were focused on matters of the kingdom in our day, but these days, no matter how hard parents try, the youth are only interested in going off the rails and becoming involved in things that are not of the kingdom."

Occultism

Very Rev. Dr. Ofori found that many of today's youngsters were interested in occultism from junior high school through senior high school and university.

"We just learned that students at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology utilized their school tuition to start enterprises and sought to make a profit before paying their fees." They are involved in a variety of betting and gambling, which is awful," he said.

All pastors and Christians, he said, should pray for the youth to change their ways.

"Let us all pray for the youth, otherwise it will not end good for them," he remarked. "We shall lose a lot of kids if we don't pray for them," Paul remarked in 2 Timothy 3:15-17. "We have taken it upon ourselves at the Calvary Victory Hour Centre to pray for the youth from this year until 2025 to get them focused and their thoughts oriented on the things of Jesus Christ so that they would be rescued," he continued.

The Very Rev. Dr. Ofori urged other churches to follow suit in order to preserve the kids from devastation, saying, "They are our future leaders, and we need them to be focused on Christ and nothing else."

He also warned Ghanaians not to take the country's calm for granted, as it was extremely valuable.
