This season, Alvaro Fernandez, Hannibal Mejbri, and Alejandro Garnacho have all been part of the first-team squad.

This season, Argentina's starlet Alejandro Garnacho made his senior debut.

Erik ten Hag and Manchester United have officially started their summer rebuilding process.

The Dutchman has already arrived in London after leading Ajax to their third Eredivisie title in four seasons, and he will attend the Premier League final against Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon. The true quest then begins, with Ten Hag attempting to conjure-up a plan to resurrect old glory.

Ajax stars from the past and present, including Jurrien Timber of the Netherlands and Frenkie de Jong of Barcelona, have been projected to follow the 52-year-old to Manchester this summer. However, after failing to qualify for the Champions League, the project will not be limited to the next window.

Indeed, onlookers have learned that Ten Hag has a predilection for cultivating youth talent and matching it with hand-picked acquisitions who can help create an ideal balance on and off the field from his very successful four and a half year time with Ajax, which brought six domestic trophies.

Given their great history of Academy players exploding onto the first-team stage and developing as global forces, this is something that any United fan can get excited about. It also comes at a time when United has regained possession of the coveted FA Youth Cup.

Alvaro Fernandez, Hannibal Mejbri, and Alejandro Garnacho, a Madrid-born Argentina attacker, were all essential in that win and are expected to have a bright future under Ten Hag. They are not, however, alone.

Change is coming at Old Trafford, both on and off the field, and the matchday team selected for the last day versus Palace might change radically over the next 12 to 24 months. As a result, the Manchester Evening News has examined how the team would appear at the start of the 2024/2025 season.

Of course, that's almost two years away, and the situation could change before then. Cristiano Ronaldo's contract will be up at that point if his option is exercised, and there's no guarantee that current stars like Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Alex Telles, Harry Maguire, and Fred would be available to see the situation develop.

In 2024, Manchester United could line up in one of several ways under Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag will also have to resolve the long-running goalkeeping controversy between David de Gea and Dean Henderson, who looks ready to leave (at least on loan) this summer. Aside from these and other calls, the transfer market may shift in tandem with the growth of more promising young players.

After 24 months under Ten Hag's leadership, here's how United might look.

De Gea; Dalot, Timber, Varane, Shaw; De Jong, Garner, Fernandes/Hannibal; Sancho, Nunez, Garnacho.

Henderson, Lindelof, Fernandez, McTominay, van de Beek, Mainoo, Rashford, Antony, and Elanga are on the bench.
