Chelsea 'will be looking' at a £30 million star who has been compared to Essien at Stamford Bridge

According to journalist Dean Jones, Chelsea 'need to be exploring' signing PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Sangare this summer.

After another outstanding season at the Philips Stadion, the highly rated 24-year-old has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs in recent weeks.

What is the most recent Sangare news?

According to the Daily Mirror, Chelsea are planning a squad overhaul in the coming months and are 'tracking' Sangare ahead of a possible move.

According to the report, PSV value the Ivory Coast international at £30 million, and Thomas Tuchel's charges see him as a cheaper alternative to Declan Rice.

David Moyes, the manager of West Ham United, has publicly claimed Rice will not be allowed to depart the London Stadium for less than £150 million, putting him out of reach for the Blues.

Chelsea are not the only club interested in luring Sangare away from PSV, with Aston Villa, Leicester City, and Manchester United also expressing an interest.

The 6 foot 3 engine room operator appears to be one of the hottest properties on the market this summer and could be heading to English shores soon.

What did Jones have to say about Sangare?

According to Sports Mediaset, Chelsea are nearing an agreement with Ivan Perisic, and Jones believes the 33-year-old is "probably more likely" to end up in west London than Sangare.

"Sangare, I'm not convinced that's where he ends up," he said in an exclusive interview with GiveMeSport.

"I mean, Chelsea will look into the situation, if only because all of their rivals are at the moment, so they need to look into it as well."

It'll be interesting, but I believe Perisic is more likely than Sangare."

Would Sangare be a good addition?

Alpha Balde, an African journalist, previously told Goal.com that Sangare reminds him of former Chelsea favorite 'Michael Essien due to his physical presence.

Didier Drogba, the Chelsea legend, began his career where?

Sangare, on the other hand, has averaged 3.3 tackles, 2.3 interceptions, and 70.9 passes per league game this season, according to WhoScored.

Those figures put him in the top three for each metric among his teammates and show he has the tactical and technical ability to succeed at the highest level, whether at Chelsea or one of their rivals.
