MOMO TRANSACTION VALUE FOR APRIL DECLINES BY 3 PERCENT

The overall amount of Mobile Money transactions decreased by 3% in the month leading up to the introduction of the Electronic-Levy, from GH90.5 billion in March to GH87.7 billion in April.

The overall number of Mobile Money transactions fell by 2.4 percent from 413 million in March to 403 million in April, according to the statistics.According to the study, there were 611,000 registered agents and 454,000 active agents in the country by the end of April 2022.

 

The value of transactions climbed from 2.8 billion in March to 3.3 billion in April, according to data on Mobile Money interoperability, which is the infrastructure that allows payments to be transferred from one mobile money wallet to another across various networks.

Year on year, the overall number of mobile money transactions climbed by almost 20%, from 323 million in April 2021 to 403 million in April 2022, while the total value of transactions increased by 4.4%, from GH83.8 billion in April 2021 to GH87.7 billion in April 2022.

 

 

 

The number of registered mobile money accounts climbed by 7.5% from 42.1 million in April 2021 to 50.2 million in April this year, while the number of active mobile money accounts increased by 7.5% from 17.2 million in April 2021 to 18.6 million in April this year.
