Following Manchester City's Premier League title win, Jack Grealish delivered an open and honest interview, revealing one challenge he's had adjusting into Pep Guardiola's club.

The victors write history, and if City hadn't completed the comeback against Aston Villa on Sunday, Pep would have faced one major question: "why not bring on Grealish?"

At 2-0, City manager Pep Guardiola chose Ilkay Gundogan over a player he bought for £100 million from Villa less than a year ago to turn things around as they appeared to be on the verge of losing the title.

It worked, as Gundogan scored the crucial goals, but it sparked more concerns about the England forward, with some claiming the 26-year-old has been a bust, especially after scoring three league goals and assisting three in his debut season.

After the game, the former Villa captain spoke about where he wants to improve and how he believes the tactical shift to fit into Guardiola's system has altered his thinking on the pitch, which has impacted his performance.

"I've even had people tell me, 'I want Jack to attack more, like at Villa,'" he explained on the Etihad pitch as the celebrations erupted around him.

"And I feel like, because Pep doesn't want you to lose the ball, I'm always thinking to myself, 'I can't lose this ball,' you know what I mean."

"I feel like, 'All right, I've got to get out of here.'"

"Yeah, at times," Grealish said when asked by Jamie Redknapp whether he felt he'd played it safe.

"For example, after scoring against West Ham last week, I felt like I was like, 'Come on, give me the ball,' and I was sprinting at people, trying to create things."

"I even told my father after the game, 'I felt like myself then, playing today,'" said the player.

"I'm hoping to bring it next season." I'm confident I will."

Other forwards, like as Bernardo Silva and David Silva, have struggled in their first season under Pep before going on to make a significant impact.

When he took over from Manuel Pellegrini in 2016, Sergio Aguero lost his spot as a guaranteed starter under the City boss, and the Argentinian had to adapt.

Despite not participating in the comeback triumph over his previous club, England's forward was clearly overjoyed with his first trophy, and Roy Keane gave him some sound advice.

He also said that he wants more goals and assists in the future, with an eye on the upcoming season starting in August and possibly the winter World Cup.

When asked about thinking about his numbers, he stated, "You've got to, I think in this day and age, that's what people look at."

"And that's exactly what you want to achieve with aggressive guys.

"It's the same with defenders: it's great that they're doing well, but they want clean sheets.

"Hopefully next season I can get more of them [goals and assists], and I'm sure Pep and [Gareth] Southgate will help me do that."
