Players are now free to negotiate transfers after most of Europe's football competitions have concluded for the 2021-22 season. Clubs have already begun to bolster their rosters in preparation for the 2022-23 season. Transfer transactions must be completed fast for many clubs in order for players to settle in quickly at their new clubs.
Many players' contracts with their current clubs have expired, allowing them to join new clubs as free agents. Antonio Rudiger, Erling Haaland, and Niklas Sule are three high-profile figures that have confirmed that they will leave their current clubs after the 2021-22 season. They aren't the only players who have previously completed transfers.
Without further ado, here is a list of five players who have completed transfers ahead of the 2022-23 season.
Vinicius Tobias, #5 (Shakhtar Donetsk to Real Madrid)
In recent years, Real Madrid has scoured the globe for some of the brightest young talent. Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo, and Eduardo Camavinga are all excellent examples of this. In April 2022, the La Liga winners signed 18-year-old Shakhtar Donetsk right-back Vinicius Tobias.
Tobias joined Real Madrid on a one-year loan with a purchase option, but he has already signed a pre-contract agreement. Shakhtar Donetsk will get roughly €18 million if the move goes through, as the teenager has signed a five-year contract.
After observing the Brazilian adolescent workout, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti expressed his enthusiasm for him. Tobias is now at Real Madrid Castilla and hopes to make the first team next season. He's already played three times for the reserve team.
Salih Ozcan, 4 (FC Koln to Borussia Dortmund)
Borussia Dortmund has begun a rebuilding process after a disappointing season in which they were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League in the group stage. As part of the rebuild, they have completed the signing of 24-year-old Turkish midfielder Salih Ozcan from FC Koln for €5 million.
Ozcan is a tough-tackling and cerebral midfielder who comes to Signal Iduna Park with a good reputation. The former Germany U-21 international will most likely replace Axel Witsel in the midfield for Borussia Dortmund.
Ozcan has signed a four-year contract with Borussia Dortmund until June 2026, making him the club's fourth signing ahead of the 2021-22 season. Karim Adeyemi, Nico Schlotterbeck, and Niklas Sule are among the newcomers to the club.
Noussair Mazraoui (#3) (Ajax to Bayern Munich)
Noussair Mazraoui, a Moroccan right-back, has joined German champions Bayern Munich, following months of doubt over his future. Ajax has chosen not to renew the 24-year-old defender's contract.
Mazraoui has signed a four-year contract with Bayern Munich, which will keep him at the club until June 2026. According to Goal, the right-back was in a bidding war between FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich before deciding to join the German club. At the Allianz Arena, the Morocco international will compete with some of Europe's best players for a starting spot.
Bayern Munich is reportedly still working on a deal for Mazraoui's Ajax teammate Ryan Gravenberch, who has decided not to renew his contract with the club. According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, the deal is almost complete.
Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa is number two (Fulham to Napoli)
Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, a Cameroon international midfielder, joined Napoli in the summer of 2021 after Fulham was relegated to the Championship. The 26-year-old midfielder's loan contract at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona included an option to buy provision. After impressing in the 2021-22 season, Napoli have decided to sign the midfielder on a permanent basis. 2 Anguissa, Andre-Frank Zambo (Fulham to Napoli)
Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, a Cameroon international midfielder, joined Napoli in the summer of 2021 after Fulham was relegated to the Championship. With a third-place finish in Serie A, Zambo Anguissa was instrumental in helping Napoli qualify for the UEFA Champions League. Luciano Spalletti's side finished third with their highest point total since the 2017-18 season. He appeared 30 times for Napoli in all competitions and was one of the team's first names on the roster.
Anguissa will cost Napoli €15 million, which is a bargain considering his abilities. The Cameroon international has committed to the club for four years, until June 2026. He was one of Napoli's most consistent players, and his consistency was rewarded.
Boubacar Kamara No. 1 (Olympique Marseille to Aston Villa)
Boubacar Kamara, a highly rated French midfielder, has joined Aston Villa on a free transfer from Olympique Marseille. The 22-year-old is Aston Villa's second permanent signing ahead of the 2022-23 season.
