Steve McClaren, Manchester United's new assistant manager, has already stated how important Cristiano Ronaldo will be next season.
On Monday, McClaren was named as one of Ten Hag's new assistants alongside Mitchell van der Gaag, marking the start of the Reds' new era. Between 1999 and 2001, the former England and Middlesbrough manager served as Sir Alex Ferguson's right-hand man.
The future of Ronaldo has been a topic of discussion since Ten Hag took over. The Dutchman, on the other hand, has expressed his willingness to find a home for the Portuguese legend.
McClaren's comments from November 2021 appear to indicate that United's new assistant would agree. "Many people say he (Ronaldo) is the problem, but he is the solution".
"If Manchester United want to win trophies and fight for the league title, Ronaldo is the man to achieve it." They have to figure out a way to play as a team around him, because he has saved them in the last few games."
Ronaldo scored a brace against Atalanta to earn United a point in the Champions League, according to McClaren. The 61-year-old then claimed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was still employed at the Theatre of Dreams because of the forward.
He said, "He is the reason Ole is still employed." "He's having a bad week, he's suffering like many managers do, and this is a big week for him."
