Mohamed Salah has reaffirmed that he will not leave Liverpool this summer, providing a significant boost to the Reds ahead of Saturday's Champions League final against Real Madrid.
The 29-year-old, who shared the Premier League Golden Boot this season with Tottenham Hotspur's Son Heung-Min, is out of contract at Anfield at the end of next season and has yet to sign a new deal with Jurgen Klopp's side.
Salah had been linked with a transfer away from Liverpool due to uncertainty about his future, with rumors claiming he could depart to avoid becoming a free agent the following year.
Due to his failure to reach fresh terms at Liverpool, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have both been linked with the former Chelsea and AS Roma forward. Salah has now stated that he will see out the final year of his contract, despite not confirming he will sign a new term at Anfield.
Salah remarked at Liverpool's pre-Champions League media conference, "I am just focused on the team and don't want to talk about my contract." "But I'm definitely staying next season," she says.
"I'm not thinking about the contract right now." I'm not trying to be arrogant. As I said two months ago, it's all about the team now. This is a crucial week for us, therefore I'm completely focused on the team. "I'd like to win the Champions League again."
Salah will play Real Madrid for the fourth time, four years after being injured in the Spanish club's Champions League final loss in Kiev.
He insists on avenging his loss on what he feels was the worst night of his career. Salah stated, "I'm highly motivated." "I'm fired up to win the Champions League, especially after what happened last time and what occurred on Sunday [in the Premier League]. Everyone is fired up to win the Champions League."
"The last time I came off after 30 minutes [against Madrid], it was the worst moment of my career."
Meanwhile, Sadio Mane has promised that he will reveal his future plans following Saturday's final against Real Madrid.
On Wednesday, he remarked on Sky Sports, "I'll reply to this question [about my future] after the Champions League." "After the Champions League, I'll decide whether or not to stay."
Mane and Salah's current Liverpool contracts are set to end in 2023. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has stated that speculation over the fate of his key players would not detract from the team's focus ahead of the final.
"Not at all," says the narrator. So, just what do you mean by that? Will they be willing to go now that we've won? "Alternatively," Klopp stated at a press conference, "we're in discussions with all of the players." "But, no, now isn't the moment [the players haven't been swayed]."
"Sometimes, players have one idea and we have another; they don't always agree right away, but we work well together because we've known each other for a long time." Everything is in order.
"It's clear that none of them expect us to tell them what we want to do."
Despite limping off in the final Premier League match of the season against Wolves on Sunday, Klopp believes Thiago will play in the final.
