Danny Drinkwater, a Chelsea midfielder, has confirmed his departure from the club after nearly five years at Stamford Bridge.
Drinkwater was acquired by Chelsea from Leicester after the latter's sensational season in which they won the Premier League. Drinkwater has struggled at Chelsea since the move, making only 12 league games and being loaned out to four different clubs.

His £35 million move from Leicester City in 2017 seemed like such a good idea at the time, but many consider him to be one of the club's worst transfers ever.
The three-time England international hasn't looked like a Chelsea player at any point throughout his career and has spent time on four different loan spells, including this season at Reading.

During his season-long loan at Reading, the central midfielder made 34 appearances in all competitions, so it'll be fascinating to see who tries to sign him now that he's a free agent.
