Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville have given their predictions ahead of this weekend's Champions League final, which will pit Liverpool against Real Madrid in Paris.
Jamie Carragher is "sure" that Liverpool can win their third trophy of the season on Saturday when they face Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
Jurgen Klopp's squad is hoping to conclude the season on a high note by winning yet another title. The Reds have already won the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup, and despite missing out on the Premier League crown at the mercy of Manchester City, they can still claim three trophies.
Los Blancos, on the other hand, come into the game having won La Liga with ease, finishing 13 points ahead of second-placed Barcelona. On their way to become champions, Carlo Ancelotti's side only lost four league games, and they will be trying to win their 14th Champions League title.
"I've watched Real Madrid in the Champions League this season and they've lost more games in the Champions League than Liverpool have lost all season in all competitions," Carragher said on Sky Bet's The Overlap podcast.
"Real Madrid is a really strong team, but they aren't as good as Man City, and I don't believe they are as good as Chelsea, despite the fact that they beat both of them."
"With the energy, the winning, the coming back, you can spin it both ways, but they've carried a lot of luck in those games, which you need." If you win every game in the last minute after coming from behind, you don't put yourself in that situation all the time if you're that excellent of a squad.
"Of course, Real has a chance to win; it's a one-off match." I just believe that if City or Liverpool were to face Real Madrid in a one-off match with their finest team and players, they would win. "I'm certain."
Meanwhile, Gary Neville, a former Manchester United defender, feels Liverpool will lose this weekend and that Real's midfield options will be too much for the Reds. In the final, Ancelotti is expected to start Luka Modric, Casemiro, and Toni Kroos, with Federico Valverde playing a broader position and Eduardo Camavinga coming off the bench.
On The Overlap podcast, Neville remarked, "I don't think Liverpool will win the European Cup." "I've been thinking a lot about [the final in] Paris, and I've been thinking about Real Madrid and why they keep winning games and coming back.
