In the Liverpool debate, Toni Kroos supports Sadio Mane over Karim Benzema.

Before this weekend's game in Paris, Karim Benzema, Sadio Mane, and Toni Kroos all discussed whether Liverpool have improved since the 2018 Champions League final.

Toni Kroos has disputed Karim Benzema's claim that Liverpool "haven't changed much over the years," and believes the Reds are a "better team" than they were in 2018.

This weekend, the Reds will face Kroos' Real Madrid in Paris in a battle for Europe's elite club prize. Jurgen Klopp's side is aiming for their third trophy of the season, while Real Madrid recently won La Liga for the second time in three years.

It is the first time the teams have met in the final since Real Madrid won 3-1 four seasons ago thanks to two errors from Loris Karius and a Gareth Bale wonderstrike. Los Blancos last won the Champions League in 2013, and Kroos admits Liverpool have improved since then.

He stated: "To be honest, I believe Liverpool is a better team than it was in 2018. They were able to keep their best players and sign a few more.

"Thiago sets the standard in midfield, they are still very strong at the back, and I believe they were the best team in Europe this season in terms of consistency.

"But it's still only one game, and we have to remember that we eliminated them in the quarterfinals last season. The issue is 50 "" ercent "

Benzema, on the other hand, feels differently, despite the fact that Klopp's Liverpool team has changed significantly since that night in Kyiv. "They're really good," he said. "They have hardly changed over the years. But, in the end, we must assess our performance. And what happens happens if we do our thing. I'm certain "..

Liverpool's starting lineup from their last meeting in April 2021 included players who are no longer at Anfield, such as Ozan Kabak and Nat Phillips, so Benzema may be in for a surprise when he faces Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip.

Meanwhile, their 2018 squad included players like Dejan Lovren and Gini Wijnaldum, both of whom have since moved on.
