According to Fichajes, Real Madrid will compete with Atletico Madrid for Bayer 04 Leverkusen attacker Lucas Alario. Los Blancos have set their sights on signing the Argentine marksman this summer, according to reports.
At The BayArena, Alario's Season Of Mixed Emotions
Alario had a hit-or-miss season with Leverkusen in German football, as he struggled to keep his offensive numbers consistent in the final third. Nonetheless, the South American striker deserves credit for scoring seven goals in 33 games for the German club in various competitions this season.
Based on his average of 1.8 shots, 0.5 key passes, and 0.8 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga, the Tostado-born centre-forward has caught the eye at times in Europe this season. However, he needs to be a little more careful with the ball up top after completing 75% of his attempted passes in the German top flight.

Alario has proven that he can be a capable backup forward in the Premier League. In the offensive third of the pitch, he is a streaky scorer. The Argentine forward possesses a powerful leap that allows him to earn his fair share of aerial headers. In the opponent's half, he can even get himself into some perilous areas. Alario, on the other hand, has to work on his link-up play in and around the opposition penalty box.
The Leverkusen forward is excellent enough to be a potential substitute for Luka Jovic, who has so far failed to impress at Real Madrid. Over the next several seasons, we can anticipate Alario to provide more goals to Carlo Ancelotti's frontline and serve as a good understudy to Karim Benzema at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
At 29, Alario is at the top of his game and has the experience to develop into a useful team player under Ancelotti's guidance. As a result, the Spanish giants would be prudent to coordinate a deal to bring him to Madrid during the summer transfer window.
