The 2022 UEFA Champions League is already here, with Real Madrid's Carlo Ancelotti and Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp set to face off for the title at the Stade de France stadium in Paris on Saturday night.

Both clubs had to come from behind to reach the finals, with Real Madrid beating Pep Guardiola's Manchester City 6-5 on aggregate and Klopp's Liverpool beating Villarreal 5-3 in the last 45 minutes of the tie.

As we wait for the final game of the UEFA Champions League this season, I present you a quick history you should know. Here are five football giants that failed to reach the UEFA Champions League final, according to LiveScore.

Diego Maradona is number one.

Late Diego Armando Maradona was an Argentine footballer who also served as a manager. He was widely recognized as one of the greatest players in football history, and he shared the FIFA Player of the Century award with two other players.

In several seasons, he represented Napoli in the UEFA Champions League, however he never made it to the final.

Ronaldo Nazario is number two.

Ronaldo Lus Nazário de Lima, better known as Ronaldo, is a Brazilian businessman, the president of Real Valladolid in the Segunda División, the owner of Cruzeiro in the Brasileiro Série B, and a retired professional footballer who played as a striker.

Ronaldo failed to reach the UEFA Champions League final during his stint at Real Madrid and other European top clubs, despite playing in multiple competition seasons.

Eric Cantona is the third player on the list.

Eric Daniel Pierre Cantona, a former Manchester United player, is a French actor, director, producer, and former professional footballer.

Roberto Baggio is number four on the list.

Although he was capable of playing in a variety of offensive roles, the former Italian professional footballer primarily played as a second striker or an attacking midfielder. He was the previous president of the Italian Football Federation's technical division.

During his European career, Roberto Baggio never made it to a UEFA Champions League final.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is number five.

Despite winning numerous league titles in various European leagues, the Swedish international has never been in a UEFA Champions League final in his career.
