Mason Mount is set to sign a new 'Double-Your-Money' contract with Chelsea, making him one of the club's highest-paid players. Following the Premier League's approval of Todd Boehly's takeover of Chelsea from Roman Abramovich, Mount has been offered a lucrative new contract that would more than treble his current wage.
Chelsea wants to extend Mount's contract and give him a large wage increase, according to the press report, in order to keep one of their most promising players. He gets around £80,000 per week despite winning the club's player of the year award each of the last two seasons.
Mount, who has been with the Blues since he was six years old, is thought to desire to stay in the capital as well.Mount has participated in 160 games for Chelsea since his debut in 2019, scoring 30 goals and helping the club win the Champions League, Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup in the last year.?
According to the source, if Chelsea's present sanctions remain in place, the contract offer he receives following the takeover will be worth more than four times his current pay.
Mount currently earns £88,462 a week, making him the 17th highest paid player in the team for the 2021/22 season, according to Sportrac data.?
He would be among the top five earners at the club if his present salary was more than doubled.
It is widely assumed that Romelu Lukaku, who joined the club from Inter Milan for a club record deal last summer, is paid £325,000 each week.
The next two highest-paid players are attacker Timo Werner (£272,000) and World Cup champion N'Golo Kante (£290,000).
However, both Saul Niguez (£198,269) and Ben Chilwell (£190,000) are on loan from Atletico Madrid until the end of the season, and he is unlikely to stay after that.
