The occupant Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, has held his seat.
This is the third time Chairman Wontumi, as he is prevalently called, is getting the seat.
Director Wontumi previously won the situation in 2014 and was reappointed in 2018. Before this, he was the supporters executive for Bosomtwe. He surveyed 464 votes against that of his nearest competitor, Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA), who got 306 votes and entered the chairmanship race, having filled in as supporters director for Afigya Kwabre South for near 20 years. In the current year's political race, his competitors were Asare Bediako, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, Owusu Aduomi and Oheneba Kofi Adum Bawuah.
Robert Asare Bediako, a previous Asokwa Constituency Chairman who participated in the challenge for the subsequent time, came third with 20 votes. In his most memorable endeavor in 2018, he pulled out of the race without a second to spare to permit Wontumi to go unopposed.
