Eden Hazard has had a difficult time since being injured in a Champions League group stage encounter against PSG in November 2019. Since then, the 100 million euro Real Madrid signing (whose price theoretically rises with each trophy, though no one should complain) has been plagued by ankle issues.

He made his LaLiga comeback against Cadiz at the end of the season, looking sharper than he had since his operation.
Madridistas have spoken a lot about Hazard. There have been compliments for masterclasses against Real Sociedad and others, but there have also been moments of irritation, as as when he laughed with his former Chelsea teammates after the Merengues were eliminated from the Champions League in a humiliating defeat.
Throughout it all, however, Hazard has demonstrated that he is a real Madridista at heart. He wanted to come here, and he wants to stay here to accomplish something great for the club, regardless of what position he plays.

Eden Hazard has always been one of the most popular players in football, whether he was playing for Lille, Chelsea, Real Madrid, or his native Belgium. With his skill, he gives joy to the pitch, and we have been deprived of seeing that joy due to injuries.
The man is keen to give football fans, particularly Real Madrid supporters, something to talk about. Something to make you grin. He wants to show us how much he cares about the club and the beautiful game.
"I couldn't this year, but next year I'm going to give it my all for you."
Even if Hazard says this every year and then fails to deliver, the thought is what counts.
Yes, practically every member of the Real Madrid crowd furrows their brows as they look at the other wingers, look at his pay, and look at the other wingers. But the romance in all of us is perhaps stronger. This message, and the feeling repeated by this world-class, generational footballer, cannot but but move us.
Hazard will hopefully get the chance to keep his promises to Madridistas. He was the right signing at the time, and only bad luck has kept him from being the superstar he was at Chelsea during his time there.
