After nine seasons with the LaLiga winners, Isco has announced his resignation from Real Madrid via an emotional statement on social media.
On the weekend, the Madrid No. 23 won his sixth Champions League winners medal with Los Blancos, just days before announcing his departure from the club.
The Spaniard has been on the outskirts of Real Madrid's team for the past two seasons, but that hasn't prevented him from professing his passion for the club on social media.
'I was in Malaga and I knew I had to depart,' Isco added in his article. I was offered a position on another team. But Real Madrid came on my door, and while there are always exceptions, Real Madrid cannot and should not be said no.
'I remember telling my guys, 'f*** Madrid hasn't won the Champions League in a long time, and I have a feeling it's about to fall,' and then LA DECIMA arrived, and the rest is history.
'Nine years later, my time at the club that has allowed me to realize all of my childhood ambitions has come to an end.
'Apart from realizing my aspirations, winning more titles than I could have imagined, playing with the best, and meeting fantastic people, I HAVE HAD A TIME AND THEY CAN'T TAKE MY DANCING AWAY FROM ME.'
Following his comment that 'there are always exceptions' to Madrid's strong call, the Spaniard used a turtle emoji in reference to Kylian Mbappe, who recently turned down a move to the Spanish capital.
Fans and players alike were quick to express their feelings for the departing star, with former Madrid defender Raphael Varane writing 'Magia!!' and current star Luka Modric drawing a simple heart.
After joining Madrid from Malaga in 2013, the midfielder won three LaLiga titles, five Champions League titles, and four Club World Cups.
