In the wake of reports that Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in signing him, the French striker has laid out his future transfer ambitions.
With his recent admission, RB Leipzig player Christopher Nkunku has cast doubt on his rumoured move to the Premier League this summer. Despite Chelsea and Manchester United's interest in signing him, the 24-year-old French striker has hinted at a return to Paris Saint-Germain.
This season, Nkunku has been one of Europe's breakout stars, and his performances have piqued the curiosity of elite teams throughout the continent. In 2019, the former PSG academy product joined RB Leipzig and has quickly established himself as a key player for the team.
The attacker single-handedly led Die Roten Bullen to a top-four finish in the Bundesliga last season, and was ultimately named the league's best player ahead of Robert Lewandowski and Erling Haaland after collecting 20 goals and 13 assists in 34 games. He concluded the season with 35 goals and 20 assists in 51 appearances across all club competitions.
Nkunku's future at RB Leipzig is undoubtedly questionable, with various rumours claiming that the Frenchman is considering a transfer elsewhere this summer. Chelsea and Manchester United of the Premier League, as well as Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, are all thought to be keeping an eye on the youngster.
His newest statement, though, suggests that he may prefer a return to Paris Saint-Germain, where he might establish a new attacking combo with Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi.
"Paris is my home, my favourite club," he stated when asked about his future and whether he will be at Leipzig next season. I don't shut any of the doors.
"In football, anything is possible." It's great to have some of the world's greatest teams interested in me. But it's also encouraging to see Leipzig trying everything possible to keep me."
RB Leipzig are keen to keep Nkunku at the club for next season, according to Nkunku, despite speculations in Germany that the club may be compelled to sell if they get a bid in excess of $70 million.
