Lausanne (Switzerland) is a city in the Swiss canton of Vaud. The security pandemonium before the Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid at the Stade de France in Paris prompted UEFA to launch a "independent report" on Monday.
The report will "review decision making, responsibility, and behaviors of all organizations engaged in the final," according to European football's governing body.
UEFA has recruited Tiago Brandao Rodrigues, a Portuguese politician, to review the study on a pro gratis basis, after which they will decide on a course of action.
"All relevant parties will be contacted for evidence," UEFA stated.
"The independent report's results will be made public," it guaranteed.
Brandao Rodrigues was the Portuguese Minister of Education, a member of the World Anti-Doping Agency, and the country's Olympic attaché at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
France condemned "massive" ticket fraud on Monday for the tumultuous scenes that accompanied Real Madrid's 1-0 victory over Liverpool in the Champions League final on Saturday.
However, the French government has suffered a barrage of criticism from the British press and politicians over the match's policing.
"With this narrative, the French authorities and Uefa are simply covering their own backs," he said.
"I was in Paris for the match as a Liverpool fan, and I can honestly state that the scenario outside the ground was one of the most horrifying moments of my life — and as a Hillsborough survivor, I don't say that lightly."
Most supporters were characterized as "exemplary" by Merseyside Police, though officials from the Paris prefecture stated others had used "strong force" to gain access to the stadium.
Liverpool FC has asked fans who attended the game to fill out a feedback form on their website to share their thoughts.
