The UEFA Champions League final is the most important game in club football, and many players aspire to play in it their entire lives. The Champions League final is the Super Bowl of football, the grandest platform of all. At this point, only the top players have a chance to build a name for themselves.

Fast-rising Vinicius Jr., a Brazilian superstar, declared his presence as a legitimate top-level talent this year. In the 2021-22 Champions League final, he scored the game-winning goal for Real Madrid against Liverpool.

The 21-year-old attacker has fully embraced his status as one of the finest players in the world, as many others have done before him on the same stage. It takes a lot to score in the Champions League final, and it takes much more to score many times.

Here is a list of the five players who have scored the most goals in Champions League finals.

Sergio Ramos (#5) (2 goals)

Sergio Ramos (yep, the defense) is one of the game's ultimate big-game performers due to his ability to contribute on both ends of the field. The Spaniard has two goals in UEFA Champions League finals, both in Real Madrid's blue and white.

Ramos scored in his first Champions League final appearance in 2014, as Real Madrid won La Decima 4-1 after extra time against Atletico Madrid. In the 92nd minute, with his team down a goal, they got a corner, and Ramos rushed forward from his defensive position. The Spanish defender scored a goal with a powerful header.

His second goal came in the final two years later, when his team triumphed on penalties against the same opponents. After a goalmouth scramble, he opened the score before Atleti equalized.

As a player, Ramos has been in four Champions League finals, winning all four. In each of those finals, he was one of his team's greatest players. The seasoned defender is one of the top goal scorers in the world.

Lionel Messi (#4) (2 goals)

Lionel Messi, like Ramos, has scored two goals in the UEFA Champions League finals, both against the same opponent. In his career, the Argentine attacker has won the championship four times and appeared in three finals.

Messi scored his first UCL final goal in the 2008-09 final, as part of Barcelona's 2-0 victory over Manchester United. One of his most famous goals came when the small Argentine rose highest to head home a cross from Xavi.

Two years later, in the 2010-11 final, he scored his second final goal as Barcelona defeated the same opponents 3-1 at Wembley.

Messi is one of the most recognizable players in the competition's history. He has the second-most goals (125) in the competition's history, behind Cristiano Ronaldo (140). Only ten players have won it more times than the Argentine, all of whom are Real Madrid players.

Samuel Eto'o (#3) (2 goals)

Samuel Eto'o is widely considered to be the best African striker of his generation, if not all time. In his career, the Cameroonian scored two goals in the Champions League finals, both for Barcelona.

In the 2006 final, Eto'o scored his first final goal as Barcelona rallied from behind to defeat Arsenal 2-1. For his team, he scored a goal through the legs of then-Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia.

His second goal occurred three years later in the 2009 final against Manchester United, which Barcelona won 2-0.

Eto'o is the first and only player in history to win a European triple with two different clubs in the same season. He did it with Barcelona in 2008-09 before winning the Champions League.

It's also no surprise that he's scored more goals in Champions League finals than any other African.

Gareth Bale (#2) (3 goals)

a wizard from Wales Gareth Bale is without a doubt one of Real Madrid's most controversial players in recent years. That didn't stop the winger from putting on one of the most memorable Champions League final displays in history. In two matches in the competition, he scored three goals in the finals for Real Madrid.

Bale scored his first Champions League final goal in extra time against Atletico Madrid in his rookie season (2013-14), as Real Madrid fought to win 4-1.

His second and third goals, both against Liverpool in the 2018 final, came in the same game. After coming off the bench in the second half, his performance in the contest was legendary. He then went on to score a spectacular overhead kick to put his team up 2-1 before scoring his second from 40 yards out.

Bale has won the competition five times, more than any other player in the competition's history, and he is joined by nine other players in the competition's history. Despite coming off the bench in the game, his effort in the 2018 final was unforgettable.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world (4 goals)

Cristiano Ronaldo is without a doubt the most famous player in the UEFA Champions League's history. The Portuguese superstar holds a number of records in the sport, including the most goals scored in finals. Ronaldo has four goals in the Champions League finals, three for Real Madrid and one for Manchester United.

In 2008, Ronaldo scored his first goal in a Champions League final. In the final, Manchester United and Chelsea drew 1-1 before the Red Devils prevailed on penalties.

Six years later, in a Real Madrid shirt, he scored his second goal from the penalty spot in a 4-1 triumph over Atletico Madrid. He scored the final two goals in Real Madrid's 4-1 victory over Juventus in the 2017 Champions League final.

Ronaldo is the only player to have won the competition five times and has scored the most goals (140) in the competition's history. In addition, he has the most appearances (183) in the competition's history.
