Chelsea's takeover was completed on Monday, despite Roman Abramovic's sanctions, and the Stamford Bridge powerhouse may now sign their dream signings and extend player contracts, according to sources.
Following a mass exodus of his top players, Thomas Tuchel is reportedly looking to land his objectives in the summer transfer window, with Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, Marcos Alonso, Cesar Azpilicueta, and Romelu Lukaku all expected to leave.
The Blues are closing in on a transfer for French attacker and Barcelona ace Ousmane Dembele, according to the Sun, with the 25-year-old player preferring a move to the Premier League.
Tuchel sees Dembele as an ideal upgrade for struggling Timo Werner and wantaway midfielder Hakim Ziyech because he has been linked with Chelsea for a long time.
Apart from Dembele, the Blues are also interested in signing Sevilla defender Jules Kounde and Villarreal forward Pau Torres, who is expected to join Man United instead.
After Todd Boehly completed his acquisition of Chelsea, the club could have plenty of cash to invest on new players this summer. The Blues will be trying to improve on their third-place Premier League result last season, and if manager Thomas Tuchel has his way, a slew of new faces might arrive in west London this summer.
In the next months, Chelsea is expected to send Romelu Lukaku back to Inter Milan and bring his old teammate Lautaro Martinez to Stamford Bridge instead. And, assuming Martinez and three more players can be persuaded to join the club, Express Sport looks at the Blues' fantastic XI for next season.
Chelsea has been dealt a major blow with the departures of top defenders Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen this summer. Cesar Azpilicueta might also leave the Blues.
Tuchel will be on the lookout for reinforcements ahead of the new season as he attempts to assemble a side capable of challenging for titles in both the Premier League and Europe. Last summer, the German targeted Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde but was unable to secure his services. Tuchel, on the other hand, may try to entice the 23-year-old back to Germany and make him a crucial member of his defense.
