Teenagers in leaked sex video flogged at Wa Naa’s Palace.
After their sex tape was leaked on social media, two teenage lovers – a tricycle driver and a ticket seller at the Wa Central Market in the Upper West Region – each received 20 lashes.
The teenagers were flogged after the Waala Traditional Area's Overlord, Wa-Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV, ordered their caning by some Wa youth.
The alleged sex video was posted on social media by the lady in question on Sunday, May 29, 2022.
As a result, the two were chastised for violating Waala Traditional Area customs and traditions.
The two lovers were supposed to take 100 canes each, but that number was reduced to 20.
After it was discovered that leaked sex tapes were on the rise among the youth in the Wa municipality, the Waala Traditional Area enacted a by-law prohibiting such practices in late 2021.
The Waala Traditional Area's Overlord has warned that anyone who leaks their sex tapes or nude photos will face Traditional Area Bye-laws.
