Chelsea is undergoing a transformation following Todd Boehly's ownership of the club. The American businessman wants to put together a team that can compete in the Premier League and Europe. In the summer, the Blues expect to lose players like Antonio Rudiger and César Azpilicueta, as well as Christensen and Marcos Alonso.
The defense will be practically vacant, which is why they are hoping to keep key players like Reece James, who has been linked with Manchester City and Real Madrid, and bring in renowned signings in the back, such as Achraf Hakimi. Presnel Kimpembe of Paris Saint-Germain is the player in question this time.
Chelsea's primary priorities are in defense, as there is where the most losses will occur, particularly in the middle section. That is why, according to Sky Sports, the London squad has set two main objectives: the recruitment of Jules Koundé and Presnel Kimpembe, both of whom have no club weaknesses, to lead the blue defense to the top next season.
Kimpembe's deal would cost roughly 40 million euros. Because the PSG footballer's contract runs until 2024, his price will not change, despite the fact that the Parisian club might seek €50 million. Jules Koundé, on the other hand, has been a standout at Sevilla FC since his arrival and has established himself as one of Europe's most complete central defenders. Sevilla will not settle for anything less than €65 million.
Chelsea is said to be leading the fight to capture Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot this summer. Rabiot has spent three seasons with the Bianconeri and could leave this summer.
Rabiot, on the other hand, has only 13 months left on his contract, and Corriere dello Sport reports that he may be sold for as cheap as €15 million.
Tuchel knows Rabiot from his time at Paris Saint-Germain, and the German could be looking forward to a reunion. By trade, Rabiot is a defensive midfielder. In his final season with Juventus, he averaged two tackles per game.
He could come in as a replacement for Saul Niguez, who was dropped from Atletico's starting lineup during his loan term.
This summer, the Spaniard will return to his parent or mother club, but there's a good chance he'll be offloaded once more.
