For the Kyebi Government Hospital in the Abuakwa South Municipality of the Eastern Region, the Ghana National Gas Company has cut sod for the building of two separate three-bedroom physicians' cottages.

This will aid in resolving the hospital's housing issues.

Due to the difficulty of finding housing, many newly posted doctors are forced to decline postings in the region.

As a result, Ghana Gas decided to create a programme for health professionals in order to enable them to deliver important health services to the people.

Akosua Asabea Annor, the Municipal Chief Executive for Abuakwa South, said that quality healthcare is based on the dignity and respect that society accords healthcare personnel, as well as the availability of medical equipment, adding that the municipality's lack of accommodation has been a hindrance to quality healthcare.

She feels that providing physicians' flats will help the Kyebi Government Hospital overcome its housing issues and provide people with high-quality treatment.

Humphrey Senam, Assistant Manager in Charge of Project for Ghana Gas, and Project Director, guaranteed that they will work diligently to finish the project within six months and requested collaboration.
