After the specifics for this year's Community Shield were confirmed, Liverpool will face Man City in their first game of the 2022/23 season.

The Reds will face the reigning Premier League champions in the customary season opener after winning the FA Cup. However, the game will be played at Leicester City's King Power Stadium, denying Jurgen Klopp's side a fourth trip to Wembley this calendar year.

The game will be played on Saturday, July 30 at 5 p.m., due to the Women's Euro 2022 final being staged at Wembley on the same weekend.

As a result of being held away from the home of English football for the first time since 2012, when Villa Park hosted the match, ticket information will be released in due course.

Liverpool has won the Community Shield 15 times, the most recent victory being in 2006 when they defeated Chelsea. Meanwhile, during Klopp's tenure as manager, they have lost the final twice, to Arsenal in 2020 and Man City in 2019.

After defeating Man City 1-0 in last year's final, Leicester City are the current champions.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has granted his approval for Sadio Mane to be sold, despite Bayern Munich's interest.

Mane's Liverpool contract expires in a year, and it's been reported that he wants to leave in the summer transfer market.

Bayern Munich has reached out to his representation and offered to make him one of the club's highest-paid players.

Liverpool are willing to trade him for the right price this summer, as his contract is coming to an end.

Klopp has also given his okay for Mane to be sold in the forthcoming transfer window, according to German magazine Sport Bild.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp appears to have accepted the fact that the Senegalese will not be renewing his contract.

The German is willing to let him go and replace him in his starting lineup for next season.

Bayern Munich is willing to arrange a trade for roughly €35 million and is hoping Liverpool would accept the price.

Mane scored 23 goals for Liverpool last season and has been an integral part of the club's success over the years.
