Top scorers, assists, and player of the year for PSG in the 2021/22 Season

It's difficult to put into words how Paris Saint-2021/22 Germain's season went.

Won Ligue 1 = Excellent.

Played poorly in Ligue 1 = Not good.

Failed to qualify for the Champions League = Bad.

Kylian Mbappe is still on the team, which is a good thing.

With that in mind, let's take a look at PSG's 2021/22 season.

Kylian Mbappe Mbappe is still one of the best players in the world, and he continued to thrive in the 2021/22 season.

In only 46 games, he scored 39 goals and added 26 assists. He was named Player of the Season in Ligue 1 and had a strong showing in the Champions League, scoring in both legs of the last 16 against Real Madrid.

And, happily, he has a chance to win this award in 2022/23.

Marquinhos, Marco Verratti, Marquinhos,

Manchester City vs. Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi didn't score many goals in his first season in Paris, but his first strike was unquestionably the best.

Messi took up the ball on the right flank and ran towards the box, executing a wonderful one-two with Mbappe's backheel before blasting into the top corner from the edge of the box in the group stage match against Man City.PSG fans were ecstatic about Messi's arrival in the summer because of moments like these.

Angel Di Maria vs Brest, Kylian Mbappe vs Real Madrid are two players that deserve special note.

Real Madrid 1-0 PSG

If PSG had taken all of their opportunities in the first leg of their last 16 encounter, Real Madrid might not have had a chance to win the Champions League.

PSG dominated the game from start to finish, holding 57 percent of possession and registering 21 shots on goal to Real's three. Sadly, like so many others before them, they were defeated by Thibaut Courtois.

In one of the Ligue 1 club's most memorable European victories in recent years, it needed a moment of magic from Mbappe to secure the victory.

Lille 1-5 PSG, PSG 4-1 Club Brugge are among the honourable mentions.

Nuno Mendes is a Brazilian actor.

Nuno Mendes, 19, didn't always get the playing time he earned this season. In the summer, the youthful left-back joined on loan from Sporting CP and immediately made an impact.

He was a great defender as well as a dangerous offensive threat, and his stats don't do justice to his contribution to the squad.

PSG has already exercised the option to buy him on a permanent basis, which tells you all you need to know about the Portuguese international.

Achraf Hakimi and Gianluigi Donnarumma received honorable mentions.

Danilo Pereira is a Brazilian footballer.

Danilo hasn't always had the most enthusiastic following in Paris. The defensive midfielder has received a lot of flak for several lackluster games, but by 2021/22, many of those doubters had vanished.

Danilo's newfound love of scoring goals was perhaps the most impressive aspect of his performance. He had two in each of the previous two campaigns, but this year he had five.

Danilo slipped under the radar this year, comfortable with the ball at his feet and prepared to do the tough work for a team full of superstars.

Nuno Mendes deserves special recognition.

Wijnaldum, Georginio

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was desperate to keep Georginio Wijnaldum. Before arriving to Paris, the Dutchman was a dominant midfield enforcer who scored three goals in four games at Euro 2020, thus there were big hopes.

He ended up falling far short of his goal.

Wijnaldum wasn't a frequent starter because his performances didn't win him enough playing time. In reality, it was because of his downfall that Danilo was able to shine in his place.
