BARKER-VORMAWOR IS AN ENEMY OF DEMOCRACY – SAKA SALIA

Saka Salia, a member of the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Communication Team, argues that the organizer of #FixTheCountry, Oliver Mawuse Barker-Vormawor, wants to undermine Ghana's democracy.

"He (Oliver) is a fierce hater of democracy," he says one may deduce from Oliver's activities. He urged Ghanaians to destroy the country's democracy, saying, "If our inept army won't do it, he will."

One would be tempted to assume Oliver's coup statement was a slip of the tongue the first time he heard it, but Saka Salia stated that following his release, he repeated the comment.

"His statements and stance plainly shows us he doesn't respect us," Saka Salia stated in a panel discussion with Happy98.9FM's Don Kwabena Prah on the "Epa Hoa Daben" political talk show.

He noted Oliver's choice to drive recklessly on his way to court as just another evidence of his irresponsibility, thanking the police for carrying out their mission.

"He isn't the only one who has been caught for driving while intoxicated." He was arrested just like any other driver, even members of Parliament. He went on social media right after that to make another post, and now the British High Commissioner claims this," he stated.

Following a tweet she posted, the police issued a four-page statement signed by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, accusing the British High Commissioner of meddling in the country's internal matters and telling her to mind her own business.

"Oliver Barker-Vormawor, convener of the #FixTheCountry movement, detained again, I understand for a traffic infraction on his way to court," the High Commissioner tweeted. I'm curious to see where this goes..."

The police, on the other hand, have come under fire over a leaked restricted document.

Saka Salia, a supporter of the police who feels the High Commissioner should not have remarked on Ghana's internal matters, is concerned that this may harm the country's worldwide image.

He warned the cops to be on the lookout for Oliver Barker-Vormawor, who is suspected of having dual citizenship. "Such a guy is unconcerned with what happens to Ghana, and we must be wary of him."
