News circulating today suggests that, some two lovers were paraded at the Wa Naa's Palace to be reported for an alleged scandal as they called it. According to reports, a sex tape of the lovers were leaked to the general public and they were found guilty of breaching the customary laws of their community. Some two young men equally of the age of the two lovers flogged them publicly and this has generated heated views of people all over social media.

The Chief was absent when the two were dragged to the palace to be punished, a teacher and a royal Naa Kadiri told Asaaseradio.com moments after the incident.

“They said these were people who were caught allegedly engaging in sex and leaked the sex tape to the public. Unfortunately, when they got to the palace the Wa Naa wasn’t around,” he said. “We’re yet to get the full details about the incident.”

The youth of the community took the laws into their own hands and executed a twenty sum lashes on each of the lovers. But even before that, they were going to be given hundred lashes each but upon careful deliberations reduced it to twenty. The male believed to be 20 years is a tricycle driver and the 18-year-old ticket seller work at the Wa Central Market.

While some people express the act of flogging the love birds as barbaric and excommunicated, others are of the view that, that is the only way to deal with the surge in the immoral behaviors of the youth of today. But the pertinent question we should be asking ourselves is that, what does the laws of Ghana say about things as leaking a sex tape or are there not even laws regulating such things? Or does our customary laws override the constitution which is the highest law of the land?
