During Saturday night's Champions League final versus Liverpool, Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos seemed to ruin a pair of his favorite Adidas Adipure 11pro shoes.

Since the start of the 2013/2014 season, the Germany international has worn the same brand of footwear.

He seemed to be at ease wearing the Adidas basics. In fact, Gareth Bale, Kroos' Los Blancos teammate, once stated that the protective Kroos cleans his Adipure's personally before every game.

Bale speculated, "We suspect he doesn't trust the kitman to clean them." "As a result, he always cleans them himself to ensure that they are spotless."

Real Madrid is credited with this image.

Last year, the 32-year-old World Cup winner waxed poetic about his preferred equipment in an interview with GOAL.

"Do you mean my boots?" "The reality is, it's a little unique," Kroos explained. "I haven't seen another Real Madrid player clean and condition his boots like that every day."

"More than other players, my boots are the most crucial item on the field for me."

However, a pair of his old Adipure 11pro's were on the verge of being unplayable in last weekend's final versus Liverpool, with a large tear showing in several photos taken after the final whistle. Take a look at his left boot down below.

Thai football boot experts, courtesy of Alamy The tear in Kroos' boots was noticed by Under Stats as he celebrated with colleague Luka Modric at the Stade de France, and the accompanying image was shared on Facebook.

They stated, "Noticed the condition of the top being scraped and beginning to rip, especially the boot floor."

The soleplate of the boot is also partially shattered, as shown in the photographs below.

Kroos was given a fresh new pair of 11pros ahead of the final in Paris, which had stitching of the Champions League final match facts, including the date and location.

The German, though, chose to wear his old faithfuls inside the Stade de France rather than the new style.

After the game, Kroos told Sport 1: "Winning the Champions League is always difficult and often dramatic."

"Perhaps this year was especially spectacular, but I value all five [Champions League] titles equally. But, if I'm being honest, the Champions League was the one I least expected to win out of the five."
